Les spécificités

de notre axe de recherche

Le cancer du pancréas, ou adénocarcinome pancréatique, deviendra bientôt la seconde cause de décès par cancer dans le monde, en raison d’un diagnostic tardif et de l’absence de traitements efficaces. Notre effort de recherche est consacré à la mise en place de nouvelles stratégies anticancéreuses afin d’améliorer la prise en charge des patients atteints de ce cancer.

Dans ce contexte, notre objectif de recherche est de mieux comprendre les mécanismes d’oncogenèse et de résistance thérapeutique dans ce cancer. Plus particulièrement, nous étudions le rôle du remodelage et de la réplication du génome dans l’expression génique et la résistance aux agents provoquant des cassures de l’ADN (Projet 1). Nous étudions les protéines et les interactions protéines-protéines impliquées dans l’oncogenèse pancréatique et la résistance au traitement à l’aide d’anticorps intracellulaires (Projet 2). Enfin, nous recherchons les mécanismes responsables de la résistance des cellules cancéreuses aux virus oncolytiques, et étudions l’impact de ces virus sur la réponse immunitaire antitumorale (Projet 3).

Dans son ensemble, ce projet de recherche a pour objectif de traduire nos découvertes de recherche fondamentale en innovations thérapeutiques tangibles pour les patients atteints de cancer du pancréas, selon une approche de médecine de précision.
