Role of myeloid cells in the response of glioblastoma to radiotherapy and TTFields: Research axis of the RADOPT team in the LABREX CHANGING Network

The CHANGING Center of Excellence (frenCH reseArch Network aGaINst Glioblastoma), led by Professor Ahmed Idbaih (AP-HP, Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital), brings together 14 core teams and 39 affiliated teams with expertise in neuro-oncology, immunology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and the humanities and social sciences. It has recently been accredited by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) and aims to investigate the biology and the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic potential of glioblastoma-associated myeloid cells (GAMCs).

Within this network, Professor Elizabeth Moyal co-leads, together with Professor Idbaih, Axis 4 of the project, which focuses on the involvement of GAMCs in therapeutic response. Professor Moyal, along with researchers from her research team (RADOPT, CRCT, Toulouse) and the Department of Radiotherapy (Dr. Valérie Gouazé-Andersson), will coordinate the axis dedicated to targeting GAMCs in the response to radiotherapy and tumor treating fields (TTFields), notably based on data from the ExoFields trial that she is conducting at IUCT-Oncopole.

This large-scale project, which also includes organoid analyses and AI-based data analysis, is being developed in collaboration with the teams of Professor Agnès Coste (FLAMES, RESTORE) and Mr. Ahmad Berjaoui from IRT Saint Exupéry.
