Optimisation of absorbed dose determination in external radiotherapy

Laure Vieillevigne

The development of current modulated and stereotactic radiotherapy treatment techniques has led to the emergence of modelling and metrology problems in the determination of absorbed dose.

This project is based on three research areas:

  • Modelling and characterisation of detectors
  • Development of a metrological formalism in heterogeneous media
  • Calculation of dosimetric quantities (correction factors for small field dosimetry, fluence correction factors, stopping powers, etc.) using the Monte Carlo method (GATE/Geant4)
