DR PHILIPPE DE MEDINA

BIOCHEMICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL CONTROL OF ONCOSTERONE PRODUCTION

We study the selectivity of the enzymes that we identified towards sterol substrates (including in particular plant sterols) and develop the synthesis, identification and characterization of selective inhibitors of the enzymes involved in oncosterone biosynthesis. We combine rational approaches based on the knowledge of the three-dimensional structure of the targets of interest with high-throughput screening approaches using machine learning techniques.

Our goal is to obtain new drug candidates to inhibit the carcinogenic effects of oncosterone.
