Invasiveness of Glioblastoma stem cells: Analysis of the mechanisms involved

Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most invasive cancers. The interaction of Glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) with the extracellular matrix is a key event in the development of tumour invasion. The mediators of this interaction may represent therapeutic targets and/or biomarkers that contribute to promote tumour invasion. The aim of this project is to identify target genes responsible for the high intrinsic or radiation-induced invasive potential of GSCs; and secondly to validate the proof of concept that a therapy blocking these targets could reduce tumour invasion.
