Institutions and partners

Parent institutions

The Cancer Research Center of Toulouse is a joint research unit (UMR 1037) institutionnally recognized by the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) and by the University Toulouse III Paul Sabatier (UT3).

In addition to this double Inserm/UT3 labeling, 3 of the Center’s 19 teams (Hoffmann, Manenti and Fournié teams) are also recognized by the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) as a labeled Research Team (ERL 5294).

These 3 parent institutions, Inserm, UT3 and CNRS provide the main means and salaries of the staff attached to the CRCT. Inserm, owner of the building in which the Center is hosted, also covers the infrastructure’s costs of our research unit.

Although they are not part of the parent institutions, the Claudius Regaud Institute (ICR-CLCC) and the University Hospital of Toulouse (CHU) are fundamental partners of CRCT and invest heavily in our Center, for instance through the medico-scientific contribution of their staff in our teams and platform facilities.

ICR-CLCC and CHU Toulouse are associated in a healthcare cooperation group (GCS) which organize the public oncology of Toulouse and gave birth to the Cancer University Institute of Toulouse Oncopole (IUCT-O).

Partners and funders of our research programs

Research in biology, particularly in cancerology, is extremely costly.

To reach their level of excellence, our research teams and platform facilities need each year more than 6 million euros to cover all the current research costs and the payment of contractual staff’s salaries.

In addition to the ressources provided by our parent institutions and institutional partners (in particular the payment of permanent staff’s salaries, exceeding 10 million euros annually), our researchers rely on the financial support of other partners : public, private, industrial, associations and charities.

The CRCT is particularly proud of all these supports without which its research programs could not be developed ; we warmly thank all our supporters !
